Do you share my Hey Portal voice commands with anyone else?

Some third party apps or services on Portal, like Spotify, will respond to your “Hey Portal” voice commands. In order for this to work, Portal sends information to these third party apps or services to help them provide the requested services, such as the subject of your request or a text version of your “Hey Portal” voice command to the third party providing that app or service.

Keep in mind that if you use a third party specific wake word like “Alexa” to activate a third party voice service, that information will be processed by that third-party service, not Facebook, and will be subject to that third party’s terms and policies.

If your “Hey Portal” voice interactions are stored, we may also share them with a team of vetted, trained transcription vendors and select Facebook employees who assist in reviewing voice interactions so that we can more accurately respond to your voice commands.

We also may share Portal voice interactions with a third party if the law requires us to do so.
