What information is collected for Hey Portal?
When Portal detects the wake word “Hey Portal” or it will start to record and transcribe your voice interaction.
Your voice interaction includes your voice command such as “Hey Portal, call Mom” or “Hey Portal, what’s the weather today?” Voice interactions may also include ambient noise or background conversation that happen when you say a voice command to Portal. And voice interactions may also include a “false wake” recording, which is when Portal mistakenly hears a Portal specific wake word and starts to record.
If Portal detects a Portal specific wake word, you’ll see a visual confirmation at the bottom of the screen. As Portal voice commands improve over time, it will get better at identifying and reducing the number of “false wakes” so you can have a better “Hey Portal” experience.
