Create a Facebook account to use with your Oculus device
If you are new to Meta, or using Meta Quest 2, a Facebook account is required to use your device, apps and the Oculus store. If you don’t already have a Facebook account, you can create one using the Oculus app.
To create a Facebook account using the Oculus app:
- Open the Oculus app on a compatible mobile device. You can download the Oculus app from the App Store or Google Play store.
- Tap Sign Up at the bottom of the screen.
- When you create your Facebook account, enter the name you use in real life (you will be able to choose whether you display that name to others in VR).
- After creating a Facebook account, you'll be able to create a unique VR profile — so you might be Monique Smith on Facebook, but WarriorMama365 in VR.
During the initial setup, you can also adjust your privacy settings, including whether or not people can see your Facebook name on Oculus. You can change your privacy settings at any time in the Oculus app. Learn more about your privacy on Oculus.
